Bauchi procures 10, 000 desks for secondary schools

The Bauchi state government has procured 10, 000 units of desks for distribution to secondary schools across the state.
Governor Mohammed Abubakar, represented by his Commissioner of Education, Prof Haruna Abdullahi Danwanka, made this disclosure
at the weekend during the grand award of excellence to the governor, organised by the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) held at Zaranda hotel, Bauchi.
Abubakar, who stated that his present administration had sponsored 350 teachers in the College of Education, Kangere; 50 school managers at the National Teachers Institute (NTI), Kaduna and 1, 500 classroom teachers in eight different centers.
He added that the ministry of education also procured 1, 000 units of desktop computers for the three newly constructed ultra-modern ICT centres across the three senatorial districts of the state.
While thanking the school principals for the honour, the governor promised that his administration would continue to come up with more programmes that would revamp the sector.
Earlier, the state president of ANCOPSS, Comrade Musa Mudi Jahun, explained that the confederation was established over 60 years ago, adding that it is a member of the governing council of WAEC, NECO, JAMB, NERDC and was recently co-opted to be part of its examination malpractice campaign committee.
According to him, the award was organised to appreciate the governor and stakeholders in the education sector over their outstanding performances.
