Bauchi speaker tasks members-elect on quality representation

 

The speaker of the Bauchi state House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, has tasked the members-elect to build their capacity and set solid agendas in order to give their constituencies the best representation.

He gave the advice at the opening ceremony of induction workshop for members-elect of Bauchi and Plateau state Houses of Assembly, organised by a German NGO, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) in collaboration with National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in Fraser Suite, Abuja.

The speaker stated that the induction workshop will acquaint the members-elect the nity-gritty of legislative activities and called on the participants from the two states to use the opportunity to acquire knowledge that will help them in delivering the mandate given to them by their people.

In a press statement issued to journalists in Bauchi by his spokesperson, Abdul Burra, Abubakar noted that the 10th Bauchi state House of Assembly is filled with resourceful and energetic members and he is confident that it will be one of the best or even the best in the country.

In a remark, the director general of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Suleiman, said the induction programme has been organised by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) to enable the members-elect to understand their roles, responsibilities, and the functions of the legislature.
