He said “My governor will always note that he who serves the people serves God. So we want to deepen the service that Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has given to the people of Bayelsa in terms of health, in terms of education, in terms of security, in terms of infrastructure and in all spheres of human endeavours. Our state has come up in the map offered states.

“For us, we do not have any inordinate ambition it has been service all our lives, service to the Ijaw ethnic nationality, service to my state having held several positions in the state and today we are doing the same as legislatures. And so it is all about service and service. And so I want to call on the people of Bayelsa that we are going there to continue the service to the people, he said.

Douye continued “And it means that we will need everybody on board and that this primary is a family affair. The primary is not a do-or-die affair, it is an intraparty election. It is a delegate election and so I will call on all my co aspirants that we avoid throwing tantrums at each other so that our family will be one when one man emerges so that we can all work in unison to defeat our opponent.

He explained, “Please recall that Bayelsa state was about turn first in every national examination before the governor took the oat of office. So he declared a state of emergency in education and from day one, the first priority was education, second priority education, third priority education. And education became the center piece of the restoration government.

“Today as we speak Bayelsa state is about the first five to 10 best in every national education. If you go to Bayelsa there used to be one university called Niger Delta University as we speak today, Bayelsa have three universities. I will build on the standard set by Governor Seriake Dickson”.
