Bayelsa govt announces gross inflow of N13.2b for March

The Bayelsa state Government Thursday, announced a total of N13.2 billion gross inflow for the month of March.

The deputy governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha Jonah (Rtd) disclosed this in Yenagoa during its monthly transparency briefing on income and expenditure of March 2019.

Giving an account of the income and expenditure profile of the state for the month of March, he announced that the statutory allocation stood at over N2.6 billion.

According to the deputy governor, it includes 13% derivation of over N8bn, statutory allocation of N2.6bn and refunds from other states N57million.

He said that the total Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) deductions gulped N1.5bn, comprising  Excess Crude Account Facility of N128million and commercial agriculture credit scheme of over N79 million.

Jonah, however, said the IGR for the month of February was about N739million and therefore, stated the state government was s intensifying efforts to improve on its revenue drive, particularly in the area of tax collection.

“On outflow, we have a total of N3.2billion of bank loans of N2.8bn, salaries of civil servants and political appointees N4bn, and grant to tertiary institutions, N630 million,” the deputy governor explained.
