The Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, has proscribed the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as a killer, terrorist organisation masquerading as a political party.
He said the state chapter of the ruling party are characterized by criminals and cult leaders who are promoting violence and terrorism in the likeness and image politics.
The governor said this during the state executive council meeting of the the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held on Monday April 15, 2019, at the party’s secretariat in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Dickson expressed displeasure at the violence and gruesome murder of innocent Bayelsans during the presidential and state assembly election, adding that a serving APC minister in the state had threatened that the violence that would be unleashed during the November 2 gubernatorial election would worst compared to what happened at the last election.
“So that is the mindset that I condemn. That is how Bayelsa, in fact, Niger Delta politicians are known for; tearing down their states, tearing down their leaders.
“Whereas in other places, you see two opposition politicians fighting; birthdays, burials, celebrations one person is been honored. They are together.
“Here in the name of politics, Bayelsa and South-South, Niger Delta half baked primitive politicians and leaders who don’t understand that in the business of politics, we are there to serve our people.
“We don’t have to kill and maim and destroy because, in the end, you need the other person. We need ourselves for our growth, for development, and for stability.
“If you look at these old people playing old Bayelsa politics, these old politicians if you are in one party, even if you are dying they don’t care after all it is APC, PDP. Those characters I see them and am not quite surprised knowing their background.
“The APC in Bayelsa is a killer, terrorist organization masquerading as a political party; criminals, cult leaders promoting violence and terrorism in the likeness and image of politics,” Dickson said.
