Bayelsa guber: Aspirant harps on agriculture development, youth empowerment

Ahead  of the PDP governorship primary elections slated for September 2019 in Bayelsa State, an aspirant Dr. Nimibofa Ayawei has said one major problem in the region is the value system which must be given proper attention as well as an encouragement to young men in a bid to come together and partner in agricultural business, especially in fish farming.

According to him, if elected, his programs would be design to give youth sense of belonging, especially in area of entrepreneurship.

Ayawei, who made the pledge while speaking to Journalists in Yenagoa at the Gabriel Okara cultural center said as an astute politician, he would employ his vast experience to harness the untapped abundant resources in the state for its development.

He said he had empowered youths in his little capacity and would do it at a larger level if given the opportunity to serve in the state.

He encouraged youths to work, earn and gain experience to move higher, instead of imbibing sit-at-home style.

He said, “My major priority if elected is to empower the youths through skills acquisition, training and retraining of teachers as well as harness the untapped abundant resources in the state for its development.”
