Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Diri Douye has asked the independent National Commission (INEC) to declare him winner of the November 16 governorship election.
Douye and his party also asked the INEC to disqualify the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, David Lyon If they cannot provide document setting aside the judgment of the court that disqualified him.
Diri stated this in a press briefing in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital on Monday.
He said results from the situation room set up by his party across the state during the gubernatorial election showed that he won the election.
“INEC should declare my humble self as the winner of the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa. INEC you should look the other way around.
“I am no longer a candidate, I am indeed, the governor-elect,” Diri said.
