The party boasted that remains a no-go-area for the as it remains the traditional home of the ruling PDP. has been in the control of PDP since 1999.

Besides, the PDP said the administration of Governor Seriake Dickson has performed creditably, saying the people are content with the performance and would therefore be willing to ensure the infrastructural development of the state is sustained under the supervision of a trusted and well-structured political party and leadership.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary,  Kola Ologbondiyan, who stated this in Abuja, although the is free to exercise its right to contest the Bayelsa , but was quick to add that the main opposition party in the state does not stand any chance of success.

“On the issue of Bayelsa, the state is a traditional home of the PDP. We are in a democracy so APC has the right to run in an election.

“But there is no way that the people seeing what is happening in Nigeria today across states and FCT, looking at the massive failure of the APC and its government, and seeing the way they have reduced Nigerians to beggars, will now begin to gravitate towards APC. Bayesians will not do that,” he stated.
