BCO commends Malami over IPMAN impasse, lauds NASS on PIB passage

The Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO), has commended the recent intervention in the leadership impasse of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) by the Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami.

This was contained in a statement Saturday, issued by BCO`s national coordinator, Alhaji Danladi Pasali.

The BCO said the minister’s intervention which led to the adherence to the Supreme Court order has helped in settling the impasse, which has in the recently led to the siege of IPMAN headquarters by policemen.

“It is significant to stress that the long term impasse in the leadership of IPMAN, between some aggrieved members that have lost in both elections and supreme court, has now being put to rest with the intervention of Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, is good to commend his efforts,” the BCO said.

Meanwhile, the BCO in a separate statement, further commended the National Assembly, over the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), awaiting President Muhammadu Buhari’s, assent to become a law.

In the statement also singed by national coordinator, Danladi Pasali, said the passage of the PIB, was a land mark victory for the Petroleum Industry in particular and Nigeria in general terms.

“We appreciated the National Assembly, for doing the needful in its efforts at providing the enabling law to advanced and strengthen the petroleum sector.

“We are also impressed that the Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF), will now be strengthened by the PIB law, because it is a stabilising factor that allows Nigerians to buy petroleum at the same price every where in Nigeria,” it said.

The BCO said now that the PIB is passed, Nigeria stand great chances of attracting more investors to the petroleum and gas sectors of the economy.
