Be magnanimous in victory, Ebedi youth group tells Oyo governor-elect

A socio-political youth group in Iseyin known as Ebedi Youths For Good Governance on Tuesday asked Oyo state governor-elect, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to be magnanimous in victory and embrace peace.

The group made the call via a congratulatory statement issued by its Chairman, Comrade Busari Oluwatoyin and made available to journalists in Ibadan.

The group told Makinde to start planning on how to make Iseyin and the entire Oke-Ogun region commercially viable.

The group Chairman said the election victory of Makinde has confirmed “the people’s belief that ultimate power is reposed in the voting masses and only  humble and listening leaders deserve to enjoy their mandate.”

According to him: “The four years of the incoming administration should entail better deal for the people of Iseyin town as the people were eager to see all the roads leading to the ancient town from Ibadan Oyo, Abeokuta and the rest of Oke-Ogun region reconstructed.”

He challenged the incoming government should make it a matter of urgency to locate a higher institution of learning in the town.

“Seyi’s victory at the polls is well deserving. We have seen all he has done for the masses even before he got our mandate. We congratulate him. The core message here is to remind him of the reasons why we decided to follow him despite the power of the incumbent party and administration in the State, which is for him to as a matter of urgency embark on reconstruction of all roads leading to Iseyin which invariably lead to the rest of Oke-Ogun region.” he said.

“All these roads have totally collapsed and have cost our people precious lives and economic deprivation as you know that we are mostly agrarian here.

“It is also important to state that Iseyin youths decided to abandon APC for deceiving us with promises of higher institution of learning throughout the Ajimobi’s eight year tenure. Engr. Seyi Makinde should please address this two important areas and we promise to keep supporting him and his party to have a smooth running administration.”
