Be safety cautious during yuletide season, FFS boss urges Nigerians

The Controller General, CG, Federal Fire Service (FFS) Dr. Liman Ibrahim has called on citizens to imbibe the culture of safety during the Yuletide and harmattan seasons.

In a statement Thursday in Abuja by the Service Public Relations officer, Ugoh Huan, said that while the harmattan season is a period that easily records higher number of fire incidences due to dry wind and other activities which could result to quick ignition, citizens must observe a high level of alertness as festive activities such as cooking, fire works, travels are carried out.

Dr Ibrahim stressed the need to install fire prevention and suppression equipments like smoke detectors and fire alarms, while locating at least one fire extinguisher in homes and cars.

The Fire Service boss assured citizens of the Service preparedness to respond to all emergency calls during this season.

“Incase of any emergency people shouldn’t hesitate to call 122 or 08032003557,” the CG said.

He wishes Nigerians a disaster free Christmas and New Year celebrations.
