Be wary of allocations to council, Lawmaker cautions Kogi administrators

The Member Representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Hon. Sunday Karimi, has cautioned local government administrators from the federal constituency to be wary of amount accruing to the local government areas, assuring that  soon they would be made to account for every kobo they allegedly signed by them.

The lawmaker stated this while reacting to monies said to have been allegedly accrued the local government areas in Yagba Federal Constituency, noting  that they would be made to account for their transactions.

According to him, “If  the amount as published by the Federal Ministry of Finance is anything to go by, the administrators must have cases to answer.

“The amount is  mind boggling, but yet nothing to show in terms of projects executed in the local government areas”

Hon. Karimi stated that the level of looting ongoing at the local government areas was unimaginable, describing it as worrisome .

He said despite the amount accrued the councils, salaries are still been owed for several months, lamenting that  whenever the workers are paid, “it is in percentages, and no single infrastructure development to justify the huge allocations”
