A former aviator turned beauty consultant, Mrs Kemisola Ajetunmobi, has bagged a leadership award for her sterling contributions to promoting financial self- reliance among women.

The honour, which was bestowed on her by the Institute of Leadership Development based in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was in recognition of her contribution to women empowerment and financial independence through network marketing.

Speaking to journalists during the ward presentation, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of Institute of Leadership Development, Barrister Kachi Okezie, said the institute recognizes her sterling qualities and achievements in personal development, team building and digital marketing training for women and girls.

Okezie also noted that the award was in line with the Institute’s vision of recognising and rewarding success in leadership and leadership development by individuals and corporate organisations.

According to him, “the recipient is a multi-talented entrepreneur who over the years has built a vast network marketing industry, enabling her to rise to the top echelon of Oriflame, the Swedish global cosmetics group, where she has just become the first executive director for Nigeria, the first in sub-Saharan Africa and the 67th in the whole world.

“She is indeed an inspiration to young women throughout Nigeria, thousands of whom she mentors through her online seminars and conferences. She is helping women to discover the power of financial self-sufficiency in their quest for peace and stability in their various families”.

In her response, Mrs Kemisola Ajetunmobi, thanked the Institute for the honour, while calling on women to be self-reliant in order to bridge the gender gap in the society.

Mrs Ajetunmobi used the occasion to reveal that she has created an online TV show called Boss Like a Mommy Millionaire to be officially launched on May 29, 2019, with main objective of promoting positive use of network marketing to encourage women and young girls to become financially independent while also gaining digital skills and competencies.

She said, “it was a simple decision to sell cosmetics, lipsticks and fragrance to supplement my salary in the aviation industry as I was searching for something I could do from home that could give me more time for my family.

“But today, it has blossomed into several impactful experiences for so many people across Nigeria which includes mothers and young ladies. Down the line, I have achieved so much more than I thought I could achieve in 5 years.

“From becoming the first manager produced by the company in Nigeria and also becoming their number 1 beauty consultant in Nigeria, number 6 in Africa and number 67 in the world and now the first Executive Director in Nigeria. These are remarkable achievements.”
