BEDC electrifies Delta communities

As part of efforts geared towards effective community relation, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) said it has restored power supply to two Delta communities.

The company identified the communities as Illah and Idumuju-Unor in Oshimili North and Aniocha North local government areas of Delta state.

In a statement signed by its Head of Corporate Affairs, Adekunle Tayo,  BEDC said the communities had been without power supply since the defunct PHCN.

Tayo attributed the power cut in the area to dilapidated electrical infrastructure.

He said, “The commissioning ceremony in Illah took place at the Ogbelani Palace of the Paramount ruler of Illah Community with the Palace Chiefs in attendance.”

Tayo stated that the company’s community relation initiative has “facilitated the connection of many communities to national grid across our franchise States”.
