Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Musa Bello, has assured the newly sworn-in corps members of adequate security, saying security was of high priority to his administration.
Bello, who was represented by the Secretary, Social Development Secretariat and chairperson, NYSC FCT Governing Board, Mr. Adebola Irene Elegbede, gave the assurance yesterday at the 2017 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Orientation Course swearing in ceremony at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Kubwa.
He said his administration had deployed and assigned several security agencies here on camp to ensure their safety, but charged the corps members to assist the security agencies by being law-abiding and security-conscious.
“In the FCT, our teeming youths, women and the indigene are in dire need of leadership which will help them develop their various talents for productive creativity. This is where I hope that corps members will provide the necessary intervention,” he said.
He promised that the FCT administration “will ensure that the corps members undergo their orientation in safety” and that their welfare “is taken care of within the confines of the resources available” to it.“Already, we have assessed the areas of need here on camp and arrangements are in place to address the most pressing ones. Be sure that we shall support the NYSC FCT management to ensure that you have a hitch-free orientation exercise. Your security is also of high priority to us.”
