Bello promises commitment to primary healthcare

Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has pledged the delivery of primary healthcare services in the state.
The governor stated this in Lokoja while receiving the Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Faisal Shuaib in his office.
Dr Shuaib hailed the governor for his unrelenting support to the agency, saying Kogi is one of the few states that have shown great commitment to the uplifting of PHC in the country.
“Our Agency is appreciative of the state government’s healthcare delivery which has been displayed through its support to primary healthcare in the state.
“We are here to commend the state government and to also urge it to do more in order to ensure quality healthcare services at the grassroots,” he said.
Responding, the governor said “healthcare delivery is one of the priorities of the administration,” assuring the agency that “no resources will be spared in ensuring our people have access to quality primary healthcare delivery.” Alhaji Bello thanked the agency for its support, pledging to keep working with it to “embolden the confidence of the Kogi people in the healthcare policies.” The CEO of NPHCDA was accompanied by the Executive Director, Kogi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Yakubu.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Saka Haruna Audu, thanked the governor for his support toward the ministry in delivering the mandate of the government in the area of health.
