Bello, UBEB commended on qualitative education

Principal of Junior Secondary School, Sabon Gari, Gwagwalada, FCT-Abuja Mrs. Florence N. Okonkwo, has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Capital (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello for providing the atmosphere for students quality education.
She also commended the Director of FCT Universal Basic Education Board (FCTUBEB), Dr. Adamu Jatau Noma, for the competitive environment in education which would help students and teachers grow in every area of activity “be it curricular or extra-curricular.”
The principal gave the commendation yesterday during the first award day of the school to teachers and students in Gwagwalada.
According to her, education is much more than what happens in classroom and that the school is very fortunate to have distinguished friends, academic and non- academic staff and parents who recognise the same.
She said students “are our future and to brighten each of our futures, so we need to bring up their hidden talents,” adding that the school “has come up with the idea of appreciating teachers and students who have excelled not only in academics but also teamwork, determination and flexibility, confidence and self belief, respect and consideration in order to bring about the qualities of a responsible citizen in them.”
The principal added that the award was “a way to encourage good behaviour, inculcate competitive spirit and recognise outstanding contributions, and to recognise distinguished friends, teachers and students who exhibit outstanding qualities that will not only help them in achieving their goal in life, but also give due regards to our values, and morals which these awardees exemplify like discipline, exemplary leadership qualities, compassion and zeal for improvement in our educational system and learning.”
Contributing, the Agabe of Gwargwada, HRH, Alhaji Husseini Agabi Man, solicited for more junior and senior secondary schools in the rural communities.
