Bello urges security agencies to curb criminal activities

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello, has urged FCT security agencies to strengthen their joint patrols to curb criminal activities in the Territory.
The minister made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday.
Bello said areas such as Mogadishu Cantonment in Asokoro, Kugbo and other flash points in the Territory, identified to be harbouring criminal elements must be focused to flush out hoodlums.
He, however, promised that the administration would precede all evacuation efforts with enough notices and stakeholder engagements to check criminal activities.
He noted that though “FCT has remained peaceful,” saying that the increase in small crimes had remained a source of worry.
The minister, however, assured residents that the administration was working hard to eliminate crime and criminality in the territory.
“The FCT Security Committee was set up to combat the rising tide of kidnappings and small crimes in and outside the city,” he said.
Bello expressed gratitude to all the security agencies as well as the FCT residents for their support and contributions to the maintenance of peace in the Territory.
He, however, urged the residents to cooperate with the administration in its efforts to ensure the security of life and property in the Territory.
