Benue 2023: Boko urges Kwande people to embrace dialogue

The convener of the Moment, Mr Joseph Boko, Sunday, cautioned against campaign of calumny and confrontation and urged the people to use dialogue as they go about advocating and sensitising Benue people on why the Kwande political bloc is to produce the governor in 2023.

The Moment is a political movement that is championing agitation for the 2023 governorship in Benue state to be zoned to the  Kwande political bloc of the state.
Boko stated this Sunday in Adikpo, the headquarters of Kwande LGA, while addressing people from the political bloc, which comprises Kwande and Ushongo LGAs.

He noted that dialogue was the best way to go in order to realise the target of securing the 2023 governorship position.
He said Kwande political bloc was the first bloc to produce a governor in the state, but since all others have taken their turns it was time the governorship ticket returned where it started.
“So, having completed the circle, Kwande is to start the next round after waiting patiently for 40 years.
“Moreover, Kwande holds the key to Benue development. It is on record that since Aper Aku, first governor of Benue, produced from Kwande left as governor, nobody has been able to beat his land mark achievements,” he added.
He said claims and agitations by other blocs were unnecessary, baseless, except for Zone C.
“Under political precedence, particularly in Tiv area, once you have your turn even if it is just a day, it is counted that you have taken your turn,” he said.

He stated that the actions of Adasu-led administration remained valid and historical, and it was not convincing for the Jechirah  bloc to claim that they have never produced governor.
Adasu’s tenure remained memorable with impressive landmarks like Benue State University, JS Tarka Foundation among others.
“The pictures on official government walls prove the more. It is on record that Adasu is on the succession chart of past governors of the state.
“Adasu was succeeded by a person from Jemgbagh political bloc then followed by Sankera and now MINDA,” he said.
