Benue APC crisis: Blame Akume, not Ortom – Chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state, Barr Haruna Garus Gololo, has said that the crisis rocking the party in the state should not be blamed on Governor Samuel Ortom but on the party leader, Senator George Akume. Speaking with newsmen in Abuja yesterday, Gololo said Akume should be held responsible for the crisis the state is facing because as the party leader, he is supposed to advise the governor for the betterment of the state and not allow gap in communication. The APC chieftain further said it was because of loyalty issues that Akume parted ways with Gabriel Suswam, the immediate former governor of the state, leading to the emergence of Governor Ortom whom the party leader is supposed to have full confidence and loyalty from.

While calling for greater unity and understanding ahead of the 2019 election, the chieftain called on the party to investigate any matter brought before it, especially the letter written purportedly by the people of the state, to know where the fault is coming from.
