Benue, Taraba meet in Nasarawa over insecurity

Governors of Benue and Taraba states Tuesday met at the Nasarawa state Government House Lafia, the state capital for a joint security meeting between the two states.

The meeting is expected to find an end to the lingering crises between the Tiv and Jukun.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state who provided safe and neutral venue of the meeting is serving as mediator.

The two governors were represented by their deputies Benson Abounu of and Haruna Manu.

Traditional rulers, political appointees, youth leaders from the two states as well as heads of security agencies have also arrived Lafia for the meeting.

A communiqué is expected to be issue at the end of the meeting.
