Between Malami and Amotekun by Mrs Olusanya

Since the Hisbah police in some northern states is not illegal to operate, Operation Amotekun should not be declared illegal by the federal government. The initiators, the six South-west governors, should stand tall and be firm never to compromise for cheap political reasons.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, is only dancing to the tunes of his drummers. Where was he together with the security chiefs when the country is bombarded by kidnappers, terrorists, bandits, and herdsmen attacks that are claiming lives and destroying property and farmlands? They looked the other way and pretended that nothing is happening. They are busy on the highway patrols and checkpoints. The Wadume issue is there; where his escorts were killed aimlessly, and nothing is heard since.

The governors are tired of losing their citizens, hence a joint decision to form Operation Amotekun. So, away with aimless and senseless legality. Laws are made for people and could be scrapped or abandoned if they are becoming useless.

Since Hisbah is not illegal, Amotekun cannot be illegal too. Period!
