The Rector of Federal Polytechnic,Bida in Niger state ,Dr Abubakar Abdul-Dzukogi, says he will consolidate on the successes achieved so far in the implementation of his seven points agenda.
Dr Abdul-Dzukogi spoke in Bida on Tuesday night during a Ramadan dinner organised in his honour on his recent reappointment for another tenure by President Muhammadu Buhari which begun May 21st, 2019.
According to him, “much had been achieved interms of infrastructural developments as well as improved standard of education in the institution.
The rector further noted that alot of vital structures had sprang up during my first time in office as Chief Executive of the polytechnic.
This he said was largely in the areas of construction and renovation of classrooms, offices, student hostels and other related structures.
Similarly, the rector disclosed that a lot had been achieved interms of the provision of vital teaching and learning facilities in the laboratories and studios among others.
On discipline, Abdul-Dzukogi lamented that much was not achieved, as the high level of displine he desired for the polytechnic was yet to attend.
In this direction, the rector vowed that he will leave no stone on turn to ensure that the polytechnic community was taken to the highest pedestal of discipline.
In his remarks, Deputy Rector Academic, Mr Austin Ogbenujiwe who described Abdul-Dzukogi as a detribalized Nigerian, hardworking, productive, result oriented who has no respect for laziness deserved to be celebrated for his strides.
He advised workers and departmental heads to ensure self discipline and development while he charged for the continuity of the policies and programmes in an atmosphere of unity and support to succeed.
The Registrar, Muhammad Baba Ndana in his remarks however handed down warning on those distracting the system to rather cooperate or quit as they will no longer condoled such malady anymore.
“We have had enough which is enough in the institution, rector loves and accommodates everybody and lived an examplary leadership”
He urged that the rector should create larger heart to continue to accommodate all.
The event ended with the presentation to the rector a documented achievements for rector’s four years as a compendium titled “My Stewardship” by a committee set up for the assignment which would soon be made available to the public.
