Blackout: Gov Udom donates generating sets to offices

As an alternative to incessant power outrage in parts of the state by Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), the Akwa Ibom  State  Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel has donated ten 7.5 KVA generating  sets to  sub- treasuries in the state. 

Presenting the  generating  sets  on Wednesday on behalf of the governor, the state Accountant General  Pastor  Uwem Andrew-  Essien said the  generating  sets  would  assist sub treasury  staff carry out their  official  assignments  creditably, in view of the  epileptic  nature of  public  power supply  in the  state.

Pastor  Andrew- Essien said the  exercise  would  be  done in  phases until  all sub- treasuries  without generating  sets are catered  for.

The Accountant General  who was represented by  his deputy, Mrs Patricia  Ukoette advised the  sub- treasurers  to imbibe good  maintenance  culture  and guard  against  vandalizing the sets.

A staff ,Mr. Ekeng Effiong, sub-  treasurer for Onna expressed  gratitude  to  the  state  Governor  and  the  Accountant General  for placing  premium  on  the  wellbeing  of  workers  in  the  state.

He assured  the  Accountant  General  that  they  would  continue  to  put in  their  best to reciprocate  Government’s  kind gesture, adding  that with  the  new development, there would be increased  output  which would  in turn boost the state’s  Internally  Generated  Revenue(IGR).
