Blueprint business editor loses father

Business Editor, Lagos office of Blueprint newspapers, Blessing Anaro, has lost his father, Sir (Pa) Joseph Anaro, who died at the ripe age of 84.

Late Sir Joseph Anaro, who until his demise was the Onwa/Odio of the Ibeh family tree, was born on the 7th of June 1936. He passed unto glory on 19th of June, 2020 after a brief illness.

A press statement by the family said “Pa Anaro popularly referred to as ‘The Great Teacher’ was a Political Science graduate of the noble University of Ibadan. He taught in different schools including Notre Dame College, Ozoro and was Principal Alaka Grammar School, Ozoro.

The late Pa Anaro also taught at Emore Grammar School, Oleh; Vice Principal, Notre Dame College, Principal Irri Grammar School, Principal Ikpidiama Secondary School among others before  retiring as Principal Oketa Grammer School, Ofagbe.

He served as chairman, National Union of Teachers (NUT) Isoko local government area.

A devout Anglican who spent a greater part of his time and energy in the vineyard of God, the late Sir Joseph Anaro also deeply interested in the development of Ozoro and Isoko community, he had served as chairman central working committee and chairman, Ozoro Progressive Union in Ozoro Kingdom.

The statement described the late Anaro as a loving father and strict disciplinarian who had a fulfilled life. Sir (Pa) Joseph Anaro is survived by his wife, seven children and many grandchildren.
