Blueprint editor off to Germany

The Editor of Blueprint Newspapers, Malam Abdulrahman A. Abdulrauf, has left for Germany on a three-month attachment programme in journalism under the auspices of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, a German Foundation, with its head office in Frankfurt.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued Tuesday by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the organisation, Malam Salisu Umar.

The COO also announced the appointment of Mr. Adoyi M. Aba as the acting Editor of the Daily title. Until his appointment, Mr. Aba was the Editor of the Blueprint Weekend.

The statement also indicated that while in Germany, Malam Abdulrauf “will be exposed to modern democratic practice and good governance around the world. The programme will further sharpen his skills and update his knowledge on the current trend in journalism as well as afford him the opportunity to interact with major players in the industry.

“He is expected to bring the experience garnered during the programme to bear on the paper on his return,” the statement read in part.

The Deputy Editor of Blueprint Weekend, Mrs. Chizoba Ogbeche, is to act as the editor of the paper, the statement further stated.
