Blueprint reporter loses father

The death has occurred of Elder Peter Aruwan of Kabala West community of Unguwar Mu’azu District of Kaduna South local government area of Kaduna state.

He died on Monday at his home, 31 Koro Road, Kabala West, Kaduna, after battling with diabetic and hypertensive complications.
Elder Aruwan was Tafidan Sabon Garin-Tudun Wada By-pass, and active community leader involved in peace initiatives among Hausa-Fulani and Southern Kaduna ethnic groups in Tudun Wada, Rigasa, Hayin Nariya, Unguwar Mu’azu and Kabala West communities for over 30 years.
Aruwan, who hailed from Marsa, Bajju district in Zangon Kataf local government area, was born in early 1940, and served in Nigerian Army as a member of post-independence intake into the Army.

He also studied at the Kaduna state School of Health Technology where he obtained a Higher Diploma in Environmental Studies and subsequently joined the services of Kaduna state government.

The late Elder Aruwan is survived by his wife, children and grand children. Among the children is Samuel Aruwan who was Correspondent of Leadership, until 2011, when he joined Blueprint.

Burial arraignments would be announced at the end of family consultations, according to the family’s spokesman, Enoch Aruwan.
Chairman of Blueprint Newspapers Limited, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, yesterday visited the bereaved family at their Kaduna home.
He said: “I am here on behalf of the management to condole with your family over the death of your father; we received the news with shock and sadness. It is our prayer that Almighty God will give all of us the fortitude to bear this loss and may his soul rest in peace.”

In his response, Enoch thanked the chairman, saying: “We are grateful and greatly inspired by your kind words. There is one thing our father gave us; it is just morals and fear of God.”
