Blueprint wins NAHCON’s best media award

Blueprint Newspapers Limited has emerged Best Performing Media outfit with the highest coverage of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) 2018 hajj operations.

The award of excellence was presented to the media outfit during a one day meeting organised by the commission for stakeholders at the National Mosque in Abuja, Tuesday.

Presenting the award to the representative of Blueprint, Malam Ahmid Lawal, Chairman of the commission, Barrister Abdullah Mukhtar Muhammad said Blueprint came first based on the survey carried out by NAHCON on the coverage of the 2018 hajj exercise, with particular reference to the activities of the commission at large within and outside Nigeria.

The chairman commended the paper for its professionalism and objectivity in the positive reportage of the commission without sentiments attached and called on other media to emulate the gesture.

At the event, other awards were also presented to deserving individuals and pilgrims’ welfare boards across the country.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kaduna and the Armed Forces bagged the Best Performing Pilgrims Welfare Boards while Kogi bagged the Most Innovative Pilgrims’ Welfare Board award.
