Blueprint’s editorial contents, packaging excellent – Kano commissioner

Kano state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alhaji Nasiru Gawuna, has said the Blueprint Newspapers “is an excellent editorial content and packaging” in addition to being “objective and forthright.” Gawuna, who had declared interest to run for Kano Central Senatorial seat, also observed that “since the birth of the paper, it has remained very vibrant and always very forthright and objective in its stories and editorial contents.”

“I am highly impressed with the newspaper that I was one of those in the former cabinet of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso that insisted that Blueprint should be one of the papers that will publish our weekly council meetings. I was a Commissioner in the Kwankwaso cabinet.

When Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje came on board, we continued our weekly publications in several newspapers, including the Blueprint, but we could not sustain it,” he said. He said the paper’s annual Impact Series/Awards which debuted yesterday was “a welcome development,” adding, however, that “I want the paper to organise more awards so that it can reach out to the larger society.” The commissioner added that “Blueprint came at a time when the North needed more newspapers to cover its activities.”

“We will continue to partner with Blueprint Newspapers so that we will assist the paper in terms of patronage, so that  the paper which has been on the newsstands for more than seven years now can continue to challenge and even surpass the older ones. “I wish to call on the management of Blueprint Newspapers to establish its own printing outfit, especially in Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Maiduguri and Port Harcourt, because I can say without fear that in the next five years Blueprint Newspapers will become an institution. I, therefore, wish to associate fully with your maiden awards outing and hope that very soon your circulation will cover all parts of the country. You should also endeavour to always be on the newsstands as early as possible because that is the only way you will attract advertisements.”
