Newly appointed Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, has assured Nigerians that the fund will continue to provide an enabling environment for infrastructural development of tertiary institutions.
Prof. Bogoro, who made the pledge over the weekend in Abuja in an interview with newsmen, declared that the agency, in line with its mandate as an intervention agency, would not relent in its drive to provide basic infrastructure that would develop Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
According to him, lack of basic infrastructure has been identified as a major challenge that often leads to industrial actions by tertiary institutions and consequently; under development in the education sector.
The Professor of Animal Science from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi also said his administration would ensure compliance with due process in carrying out its mandate.
“We believe we will remain focused in terms of basic targets and the judicious use of funds while following due process,” he said.
While describing his appointment as a call to service of the nation, the executive secretary thanked President Jonathan and his administration for giving him the opportunity to serve.
