Boko Haram attacks Yobe girls’ school

Suspected members of the Boko Haram insurgents have attacked Government Girls’ Secondary School, Dapchi, the headquarters of Bursari local government area of Yobe state.
The Commissioner of Police in Yobe state, Sumonu Abdullmaliki, who confirmed the incident said “details of the attack’s casualty is still sketchy” as at time of filling-in this report
Both teachers and students had to run to bush for their lives, according to a teacher who doesn’t want his name in a print.
Another eyewitness, simply called Alhaji Ibrahim, said the attackers stormed the school in six Hilux vans, but mainly targeting food stuffs and petrol.
On the whereabouts of the security personnel, Adamu Hassan said “it has taken some weeks when the army was withdrawn to man some strategic locations at the Nigerian boarder, only Nigerian Police Force and Civil Defence Corps were present when the incident happened.”
