The people of Margi communities in Borno and Adamawa states have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the release of 10 Lassa women and girls abducted last year by the Boko Haram insurgents.
The communities, in a statement issued by Chief A. A. Gadzama yesterday, also appreciated the military and other security agencies who worked tirelessly to secure their release.
The statement read in part: “Also deserving of our profound appreciation are, the Director General, Department of the State Security Service (SSS), Alhaji L. M. Daura, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Yusuf Buratai and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who worked tirelessly for the release of the women and girls and many others held hostage by Boko Haram.
“We also appreciate the contributions of those who worked behind the scene to secure the release of our mothers and daughters. Our appreciation also goes to churches and mosques who prayed unceasingly for the victims during their ordeal.”
The communities, while pledging support to the Buhari administration, also reiterated their firm belief and support for the Armed Forces and other security agencies in the country.
