Boko Haram: Gaidam commends VSF for rebuilding 147 projects in Yobe

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state has commended Victims Support Fund (VSF) for the massive rebuilding of structures mainly destroyed by the Boko haram insurgents.

The governor made the commendation on Monday at Potiskum while

Commissioning 147 projects rebuilt by VSF in 10 local government areas of the state.

He “I wish to stress that the support and assistance rendered to our state has greatly impacted towards mitigating the suffering of the victims of insurgency and vulnerable groups in the affected communities and generally the local governments that were worst hit”.

While handing over the reconstructed Potiskum local government secretariat to the Gaidam , the vice Chairman of the VSF, Alhaji Tijjani Tumsa, said the 147 projects covers infrastructure, water, sanitation and other areas.

“We have not only built back, but built back better for the good of the people of the state. Our work in reconstruction of public buildings is centred on our firm belief that restoration of civil authority and good governance is a key component in rebuilding communities, social cohesion and resilience of the affected populations”, he said.

The vice chairman assured that VSF would continue to intervene in livelihood supports program to improve welfare of people, especially the women folk.

Tumsa implored the beneficiaries to consider the projects as their own and imbibe maintenance culture.
