Bomb blast: JIBWIS calls for fasting, prayers

National chairman, Council of Ulama Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has condemned the spate of killings, urging Nigerians to pray and fast fervently.
Sheikh Jingir said yesterday in Jos that recent bomb explosion at Abuja and all others were ungodly act.

“The spate of killings, and that of the bombing in Abuja, is further indicative that the nation’s security is weakening.
Jingir explained that it had become paramount for the Nigerians to turn to the path of Allah.
He added: “People should have firm faith in Allah; we must repeat from committing homosexuality, lesbianism, adultery and all other vices.
“If people could do that Allah will surely answered our prayer and get us out of this mess.
“Therefore, I am calling on all Nigerians too fast for some couple of days and intensify supplications to Allah, for His continuous protection.”

Jingir said government at all strata must be fair, just and dedication to the well being of the citizens, saying that the issue of security to people’s lives was a paramount thing that “is shouldered on the leaders.”
“Religious leaders must preach with fear of Allah, traditional leaders must also ensure good moral values are impacted on their followers.
“Leaders must shun their selfish quest for luxury,” he said.

Jingir said it was unfortunate that innocent Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religions were bombed to death, adding that the situation was raising great cause for concern.
“It was unfortunate that innocent students were killed, innocent school girls were also abducted barely a day after the blast in Abuja, the security need to be proactive. Security agencies must be up and doing, they should tighten up their belts, and discharge their duties.”
