Bonnke’s death, big blow to Christendom – Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state Sunday described the death of popular evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke, as a big blow to Christendom and the entire world.

Ortom in a press statement issued by his chief press secretary, Terver Akase, said Bonnke was a true man of God whose works of the gospel of Jesus Christ touched lives in many positive ways.

He said Bonnke’s crusades in Benue, which he often used his personal funds to stage, drew thousands of people closer to God and stamped the message of the Lord Jesus in their hearts.

The governor stated that Bonnke impacted on millions of people across the globe through his crusades, writings, teachings and works of charity.

Ortom consoled the Bonnke family and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.

Bonnke during his evangelical times had visited Benue state twice, where he was alleged to have healed and converted many people in the state.
