Borno attack: Death toll rises

Death  toll from last Saturday’s attack by he Boko Haram on Dalori village, has risen to not less than 35, with over 100 others injured, sources have said. Some other sources  however put the casual figure at over 100.
Officials at the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital, who preferred anonymity, said about 35 corpses were deposited at the morgue between yesterday night and this(Sunday) morning after the attack.
A resident of the affected village,  Mallam Abba Abor said the insurgents who came at about 5:30 Pm on Saturday started throwing explosive and Rocket Propelled Grenades  at houses and shops razing down the whole village, killing scores of people , including women and children in the attack which lasted several hours.

He said, “ the insurgents came in military uniforms and military, we thought they were  soldiers before they started throwing explosives on houses and shops. They came about 5:30 Pm yesterday and lasted for over four hours, the set ablaze the whole village killing hundreds of people including women and children”
“ The Boko Haram terrorists killed  a lot of people, whoever told  you this is the amount of people killed will be lying, as they killed over a hundred of people, some of them are even beyond recognition but what I know I lost my brothers and his wives and children in the incident”, Abor who spoke in tears said.
Another resident of the area, Fannami Bulama said three female suicide bombers also killed a lot of people who fled to nearby  village of Kafa, as they disguised as fleeing residents of Dalori and shortly after the military operatives asked them not to run. Upon gathering under a tree they detonated their IEDs killing hundreds of people.

Our correspondent who visited the area reports that the whole village was  razed, with burnt human flesh  littering the streets and houses.
A civilian JTF, Ibrahim Bukar told newsmen that the insurgent caused a lot of havoc, but that the troops countered  at the Dalori camp checkpoint,  throwing RPGs and artilleries, and  killing scores of insurgents.

Speaking  on the incident, the media coordinator of the Operation Lafiya Dole Col Mustapha Anka in a press statement said “In their desperate efforts for reprisal attacks on strong, determined and committed members of the Civilian  Joint Task Force (CJTF) and innocent citizen. yesterday  30 January 2016 BHT insurgent launched attack  Dalori through Yale from ( rear of Dalori village).”
The statement further stated that an eye witness said  the insurgents came in two Golf cars, motorcycles, and  started opening fire and burning houses.
