Borno commences training of 200 administrative middle cadre officers

The Borno state government has commenced training of 200 middle administrative cadre officers (GL08 to 13) to enhance productivity and efficiency in the state civil service.

The training is organised by the office of the Head of Service in collaboration with the Association of Retired Public Servants of Borno state.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training in Maiduguri Thursday, the state Head of Service,  Simon Malgwi, said the development was in line with Governor Zulum’s administration’s policy on the need to train and re-train civil servants for a more effective and efficient service delivery.

Malgwi said training had been conducted last week for 150 ministerial secretaries and directors, while some permanent secretaries were currently attending one month leadership and strategy course at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.
Malgwi said the training for store officers and related cadre would be conducted next week.

“All these trainings are geared towards repositioning the civil servants and motivating the workers for more effective, efficient and quality service delivery to our people.

“I dare say that for a long time, civil servants in the state have never had it better in terms of training, incentives and motivation. We must therefore extend our profound gratitude to our dynamic, focused and visionary leader, Professor Zulum,  the executive governor of our dear state.

“I urge all the participants and other civil servants to justify the huge resources being committed to these trainings by rededicating and giving our best.

“I also implored the participants to pay attention to the resource person and participate actively so as to maximise the gains of the workshop and at the end, put into use the things you have learnt,” Malgwi said.
