BPP to partner Army on procurement process

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has assured that it would collaborate with the Nigeria Army to strengthen its procurement process.
BPP Director General, Mr. Mamman Ahmadu, who the assurance when he received the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai in his office also commended the army for its adherence to due process.
While urging the army leadership to continue to follow due process in procurement process, the DG said regular interface between the Bureau and the Army has made it one of the leading government that has been consistent in complying with the Public Procurement Act.
He noted that the level of compliance with the procurement Act is traceable to the military discipline that has made them sticklers to rules and regulations.
For his part, the Chief of Army Staff insisted that the Army will continue its collaboration with the Bureau in its drive to provide guidelines, guidance and directions in the public procurement process.
According to him, as an institution that complies with due process, I will ensure that public procurement will not only be at the Army’s Headquarters but will go down to all the formations of the army to expose all officers to the importance of the public procurement process.
Gen. Buratai appreciated the BPP helmsman the support to the Army saying that he will continue to seek for partnership with the procurement bureau.
