BPSR awards NASC certificate of excellence

The Bureau of Public Service Report (BPSR) has awarded the National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC) the Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) Certificate for consistently meeting expectations in all essential areas of responsibilities.
This is just as it said NASC had at times exceeded expectations Handing over the report, BPSR Acting Director General, Dasuki Arabi, said NASC met critical organizational goals and in some cases superseded it.
Arabi commended the council saying that despite the limited resources at it disposal it has done well.
“The assessment was not only on the management and Director General but it had looked on entirely the system of the office.
We have assessed the capabilities of the zonal offices of NASC against the nine main domain areas or questions that are asked under SAT.
The level of participation has been fantastic especially at the zonal levels.
“We have identified various means, challenges and problems that we are going to discuss as we move forward.
We are not disappointed with what we have seen here.
“The Bureau of Public Service Reforms, BPSR, deployed SAT in NASC in 6th July 2018 to August 29, 2018, at NASC corporate headquarters, Abuja, North-East, NorthWest and North-Central Zonal levels, and all came together in Kano, South-South and South-East zonal councils and Lagos coming in all together in Enugu, South-West zone converged in Lagos as a centre.
“In each of these zonal levels where SAT was deployed six assessment reports were generated.
The six reports were sensitized and consolidated together.
The BPSR also undertook a validation assessment of NASC where key documents and evidence that were required to support us assessment at the zonal levels were examined and verified.
“It is the practice at the end of this exercise we present you a plague to our host.
To the management and staff of the council, Organisation Self-assessment Tool SAT Certificate, Silver Level meets all Expectations presented to National Agricultural Seed Council Of Nigeria, NASC,” he said.
Receiving the report, NASC DG, Dr.
Phillip Olusegun Ojo, said the award underscore the achievement of the council.
“Today we have every reason to celebrate as we open our doors for BPSR to administer their Self Assessment Tool (SAT).
We want SAT to be done on yearly basis, and I recommend it to other agencies that are yet to key into it.
“BPSR is really out to assist and reposition agencies, particularly in ensuring that gaps are met.
I see you as partners in progress and is what you have demonstrated in this exercise,” he said.
