The Independent National Electoral Commission, Thursday, de-registered 74 political parties for their inability to fulfill the law establishing them.
Chairman of the commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, who announced this at a press briefing said that with the de-registration, only 18 parties are now in existence.
