Breaking: 2 returnees import new Covid-19 cases to Nasarawa

Nasarawa state Thursday, recorded two new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total of confirmed cases in the state to three.

Governor Abdullahi Sule announced this in a press briefing at government house Lafia, the state capital.

According to the governor, the victims are returnees from Lagos state.

He said the two new cases who have been under quarantine at the Nasarawa state polytechnic, have been moved to isolation centre at Dahatu Araf specialist hospital Lafia for treatment.

Governor Sule said those with close contacts with them have been identified and placed under observation.

“We have identified 11 contacts of the index cases. They are also isolated at the Dalhatu Araf hospital Lafia. Their test is being conducted, and we are also awaiting for their result. We will continue to keep them.

“It is sad to share with you that the situation of COVID -19 in Nasarawa state is gradually getting worse. Yesterday we conducted additional tests and out of the tests we recorded two more cases today (Thursday).”

The governor therefore, appealed to the public to cooperate with government, just as he charged security personnel at the various check points not to allow anyone to cross the borders.
