Breaking: Absence of Judge halts trial of Bauchi governor-elect

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to arraign the governor-elect of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to absence of the presiding judge.

The governor-elect was scheduled for arraignment before an FCT High Court in Maitama on Monday, on charges bordering on false declaration of assets and giving of false information.

Blueprint understands that the accused and his Counsel were in court on the day but later left after the case was not called up for hearing.
