Breaking: Again, armed robbers attack POS operatives in Imo


Armed robbers numbering about five, Thursday, attacked some POS operatives around Eke Atta market in Ikediru Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo state, taking away monies belonging to both the operatives and customers waiting to transact business.


The amount taken away totaled N500,000, according to those that spoke to Blueprint.
It was also gathered that this was the second attack on POS operatives in one week along the major Owerri-Okigwe- Enugu road in the LGA.
Last week, armed robbers suspected to be the same gang stormed the popular Ama Nwozuzu junction in Owerri, and made away with monies, phones and accessories belonging to POS and a phone seller which caused stampede at the nearby Eke Iho market before they left.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer( PPRO) Imo command, Bala Elkana, said he had not heard about the robbery incident, top  stories but promised to find out.
