Following the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue the certificate of return to the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected in entirety, saying that his party will seek all the legal means to recover its mandate.
Oshiomhole specifically blasted the electoral empire for assuming the role of court in interpreting tge verdict of the Supreme Court wrongly.
The Supreme Court on Thursday had nolified the governor-elect of the APC in Bayelsa based on irregularities in the names of his running-mate.
Reacting to the decision of INEC to respect the Supreme Court decision, Oshiomhole said he has written to the commission that the Supreme Court did not say that it should sworn in the PDP’s candidate, Douye Diri.
According to Oshiomhole, “INEC has decided to assume that the case of Bayelsa is the same with that of Zamfara. INEC has assumed judicial power.
“I wrote to INEC after the deliberation with the NWC that if it was the intention of Supreme Court to void the votes of APC
“We have consulted and resolve to reject in entirety the decision to issue certificate to the PDP candidate.
“We want to put the people of Nigeria on notice and of cause the people of Bayelsa that nobody hide under the judicial cover to impose minority on the people, even INEC is in content of the court.”
