Breaking: Again, Oyo records high figures, discharges 180 as Nigeria’s Coronavirus numbers hit 25, 133

Nigeria on Monday June 29, 2020 recorded 566 new positive cases of coronavirus with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirming that the Africa’s most populous country has hit 25, 133 in total figures since the pandemic crept in.

Oyo’s numbers followed that of Lagos where its daily record dropped in figures to 166. After Oyo, Delta, Ebonyi, Plateau and Ondo recorded over 30 cases.

Meanwhile, the Oyo state COVID-19 Task Force on Tuesday morning announced the discharge of 180 COVID-19 patients after receiving their second negative test results.

Also, the task force confirmed that Oyo state has recorded 66 new COVID-19 positive cases.

The Chairman of the Task Force and governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, made this known in an update on COVID-19 situation in the state which he posted on his Twitter handle.

Engr. Makinde said the state recorded one COVID-19-related death on Monday.

“180 confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 688.

“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for 66 suspected cases came back positive. Sadly, we had one COVID-19 related death. So, the total number of deaths in Oyo State is 12,” the governor said.
