The pioneer Director General and Field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Amitolu Shittu, has resigned from his position.
In a Facebook post on Friday, he said he had since handed over his resignation to the office of the state secretary to the government.
“Still relevant taken from the immortal word of the late sage Obafemi Awolowo when he resigned from the General Yakubu Gowon Administration.
“If we are related we shall meet again. I thank the people of Osun, I thank my friends, my wife, my family.
“I thank the entire Corps members importantly I will forever be grateful to Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the confidence repose in me to contribute my own quota to the development of Osun State.
“I am stepping aside from Amotekun for good, thank you all,” he said.
