Breaking: Another football club ‘sacks’ Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, now has his contract with Turkish Super League side, Fatih Karagumruk terminated.

The club announced that both parties have parted ways on Friday and wished their former forward well.

“We have parted ways by mutual agreement with professional football player Ahmed Musa, who was included in our 2021/2022 season,” the club announced on its Twitter handle.

No reasons was given for the decision which brought to unexpected end, Musa’s two year contract with the club.

Since joining the Super League side last year, Musa made 34 appearances and score four times

Musa scored 11 goals and provided 14 assists in 57 matches, helping Al Nassr, whom he joined from Leicester City in summer 2018, to the Saudi Pro League and Super Cup titles.

He also achieved success in Russia with CSKA Moscow where he won three league titles and added three domestic cup titles, before switching to Leicester City for a club-record fee in July 2016.

The former Leicester City forward joined the club in 2021 summer signing a two-year deal. The contract was due to expire in June 2023.

A Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr had also released the Nigerian international before the end of his contract, and that forced him to rejoin former Nigerian club Kano Pillars before he eventually headed to Turkey after few months in 2021.
