Breaking: Anyanacho, Ituku in final battle as curtains fall on Nigeria Taekwondo Int’l Open

Both Elizabeth Binga (-67kg) and Peter Itiku (-80kg) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will in couple of minutes battle their opponents in the final fight of the ongoing Nigeria Taekwando International Open championship inside the velodrome of Abuja National stadium.

While Anyanacho confront experienced Judith Usifo, Itiku, a young fighter will battle Chukwudi Nzelu representing Oyo state.

Already, the closing is on.

On Saturday, National champions, Ifeoluwa Ajayi (-63kg), Paul Kolade (-74kg) and Uzoamaka Otuadinma (-73kg) won gold medals for Nigeria on the Day two of the ongoing Nigeria International Open in Abuja.

Fast rising Ajayi defeated Mali’s Sissoko Oumar 39-34 in the men’s -63kg final while Kolade beat Niger’s Amadou Aziz 20-12 in the men’s -74kg.

In the women’s event, African silver medallist, Uzoamaka Otuadinma beat fellow countryman, Oluchi Ikpeamaeze 14-1 in the -73kg while National Sports festival gold medallist, Chidinma Okoko defeated Team Kano’s Maryam Abdullahi 16-9 in the -57kg.

The Nigeria national team tops the table with 5 gold and 1 bronze medal.

Team Saudi is second with one gold medal while Nigeria republic is third with 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.

FCT, Kano, Team Mali, Nigeria Army and Peak Performance of USA are joint fourth with one silver medal apiece.

Osun state is fifth with 2 bronze medals and in sixth position are Anambra state, As Onatel of Burkina Faso, Classix of Nigeria, Kebbi state, Lagos state, MOYAY of Nigeria and Team Mali with 1 bronze medal.
