The All Progressive Congress (APC), governorship candidate Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu Idris in Zamfara state has been declared winner of the last Saturday”s Governorship election.
Announcing the outcome of the election at the state INEC headquarters in Gusau, the Returning Officer in charge of Zamfara state, Prof Kabiru Bala said, Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu Idris “haven satisfied the requirement of the law has been declared winner of the election as Zamfara state governor-elect with a total votes of 534, 478.
He explained that, his closest opponents, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Bello Matawalle scored 189,452 votes.
Blueprint reports that APC, in Zamfara state also won all the 24 seats of the state House of Assembly with landslides victory.
