No fewer than 253 Nigerians from the United Kingdom have finally arrived Abuja after hours of delay in Lagos.

The returnees touched down Lagos since afternoon, and have been kept at the airport after officials experienced hitches.

Confirming their arrival in Abuja, Chairman Diaspora Commission Abike Dabiri-Erewa a while ago via her twitter handle said, “Finally. In Abuja. With 253 stranded Nigerians from the Uk, after hours of delay in Lagos . The delay in Lagos is most regrettable , as reiterated by Hon Minister ⁦@GeoffreyOnyeama⁩ during today’ s briefing .These are unusual times. Welcome home !”

Nigerians from UK are second batch of returnees since the federal government declared its readiness to repatriate interested compatriots in parts of the world.

The first being those from United Arab Emirates on Wednesday who are now in isolation centre in Lagos.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Geofferey Onyeama, there plans to repatriate more interested Nigerians in coming days.
